Gone to Michigan but no bike snif

I am going to Michigan to visit my grandparents but i am flying so i cant bring my bike i know its sad and no i dont have the money to spend on a box to pack it in so if anyone near Midland Michigan has an extra bike that would be willing to take me riding i would love you forever and forever be in debt to you or if you dont have an extra bike i could ride my grandpas older ridgid and pray to the God’s of the trails that i wont kill myself but yea i will get there on the fourht and i am leaving the tenth of july … please save me from my cousins

Hoot, Toot & Whistle

I have been wanting to ride this trail for years and finally did it last week. OK, it’s nothing to jump up and down about but besides MTB I am also a train buff and this trail has alot of sentimental value in that regard. This rail line used to connect Readesboro to Wilmington and has quite a history behind it.

The trail itself is basically dual track and for most part pretty well packed. In the road cuts does it tend to get a little a soupy and in the one detour over a stream because the original wooden trestle has been long since removed.

This was the old train tunnel above Donner Lake, near Lake Tahoe. The train tracks were pulled the the late 90’s and now you can ride the trails and road through the mountain instead of around or over it. I felt like I was in the movie “The Goonies” as I rode through in the dark with only a helmet light.
